The Team
At the heart of Seagrove is a dedicated and compassionate team committed to making a real difference in the lives of our members.
Our team consists of experienced staff, passionate volunteers, and an expert board of directors. A complete outline of the different roles within our team is available below.
Together, we work to create a warm, respectful, and supportive environment where every member feels valued, safe, and truly at home during their days with us.
Our Staff
We currently have a dedicated and enthusiastic team of 14 people working at Seagrove who ensure the smooth running of the centre. The team has a wide range of experience, both with working with people on their dementia journey and with the frail and elderly.
Each team member works hard to create a safe and fun environment for our members to enjoy their day. From art classes, music and dance to our famous pamper sessions, our staff are here to support and make each and every member feel valued.
The Seagrove team is made up of the following roles:
Centre Manager
Our Centre Manager is responsible for the overall development, performance, and maintenance of the Seagrove Centre in line with Care Inspectorate and SSSC guidelines and the National Care Standards. They lead on all key decision making, as well as managing the centre’s finances, reports to trustees, and the day to day management of staff and volunteers including induction, supervision, mentoring and annual appraisals.
Deputy Manager
Our Deputy Manager works closely with the manager to maintain the care and support of members at our day care centre. In the absence of the Manager, they take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Seagrove, and ensure that all company policies and procedures, and all legal requirements, are adhered to.
Administrator
The centre Administrator provides administration support to the centre manager and deputy manager, supporting with paperwork, enquiries and the general day-to-day running of the centre from an administrative perspective.
Senior Care Worker
Our Senior Care Worker is responsible for all practical aspects of day care in consultation with the management team. It is also their duty to recruit new volunteers into the service, carry out initial visits and explaining roles and responsibilities, as well as supporting with paperwork.
Day Care Workers
Our Day Care Worker team act as key workers to members using the service. They support members in developing a personal care plan and help them to meet their agreed outcomes. The team also escort members using our transport service, provide direct support to members and carers who use the service, support with personal care and promote members’ participation as well as their right to choice and decision making.
Volunteers
Volunteers are a key part of our team and an enormous asset to Seagrove.
Volunteers bring a variety of skills that assist in the daily running of the centre. Some of their roles include preparing and cooking meals, washing dishes, helping run daily activity groups, gardening, DIY, admin tasks, and assisting with our transport service.
We continue to work towards retaining our Investors in Volunteers Award, which shows how much we appreciate our Volunteers' support and contribution to our service delivery.
Become a volunteer
Volunteering at Seagrove offers individuals and corporate groups the chance to learn new skills, get involved with the local community, and better understand how to care for older people and those living with dementia.
Volunteers benefit from training and support from our staff and can use the transferable skills they develop with us in other organisations or employment.
We always welcome applications from individuals and groups who are looking to volunteer with us, both on an ongoing and one-off basis. If you would like to know more, please complete the form below, and we’ll be in touch very soon!
